The journey with Rotary has, for me personally, been an extraordinarily special experience. For over 30 years it has offered me the unique opportunity to step beyond professional boundaries and contribute to projects enriching the lives of others around the world

Just one small example arose recently in Bangkok. The Rotary Foundation (TRF) is the cornerstone of Rotary’s philanthropic efforts and I have the privilege of being a member of the Chair’s Circle of the Arch Klumph Society, the senior group of donors to the TRF. One of the projects with which I have been involved enabled me to finance an ambulance covering a community of over 100,000 people in the Khlong Sam Wa District in northern Bangkok. I had the opportunity this month of visiting the sponsoring Rotary club and viewing the ambulance in person.

Witnessing the tangible impact of this initiative and the dedication of Rotarians involved with the project was both heartwarming and humbling. It totally reaffirmed my belief in the transformative power of collective action.

This recent experience was a powerful reminder to me of the incredible friendships, collaboration and community spirit that Rotary fosters. From eradicating polio in partnership with the World Health Organization and UNICEF to promoting clean water initiatives, vocational training and peacebuilding programs, Rotary is truly a force for good across the globe.
