For more than four decades, I have had the privilege of being a Rotarian, transferring my membership across several countries as my career evolved. Rotary’s unwavering commitment to service, fellowship and making a difference in the world has been a constant source of inspiration.
It was an honour to make a major contribution toward the donation of ten dialysis machines to an important regional hospital in Nakhon Ratchasima in northern Thailand. Recently attending the handover ceremony was a profoundly moving experience. Seeing the machines in place and meeting the medical professionals who will use them as well as some of the patients already receiving treatment was both heartwarming and humbling.
The project was magnificently supported by the generosity of Rotary clubs across Thailand as well as from South Korea and Taiwan. Standing alongside more than 150 Rotarians from these different locations fully supported my belief in the immense transformative power of collective action.
Being involved in this project also reaffirmed for me the responsibility and privilege that comes with supporting The Rotary Foundation (TRF), the cornerstone of Rotary’s philanthropic efforts worldwide. As a member of the Chair’s Circle of the Arch Klumph Society, the senior group of donors to the TRF, I have seen how sustained personal commitment enables Rotary to translate generosity into lasting change. It is why I remain proud to support Rotary’s mission and its remarkable work around the world.
