Dinner in Bangkok last week with Suchart Tonjaroen was a great privilege. As a senior statesman who has helped shape Thailand’s parliamentary and ministerial landscape over several decades, his reflections on governance and regional cooperation within the framework of Thailand’s role within ASEAN and as a BRICS Partnership Country were invaluable.

Suchart’s distinguished career includes serving as Minister for the Prime Minister’s Office, First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Deputy Minister of the Interior and nine terms as a Member of Parliament for Chachoengsao. He has also held senior positions across several major political parties over three decades bringing unique perspective and experience to each role.
