Last week I had the great pleasure of meeting HE Korn Dabbaransi, three times former Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand, to exchange views on the future of UAE - Thailand relations.

His distinguished career, which spans senior ministerial roles in industry, health, science, and public affairs, gives him a unique perspective on how nations can transform opportunity into lasting progress. Over the course of several decades, he has served in multiple cabinets playing key roles in shaping domestic policy and Thailand’s outward engagement with the rest of the world.

Our discussion focused on how the UAE, as a global hub for finance and logistics, and Thailand, as a gateway to ASEAN, can deepen cooperation in trade, investment and sustainable growth. The potential is substantial extending across medical and healthcare collaboration, agriculture and food security, hospitality and tourism, wellness industries, renewable energy and education. These are all areas where shared strengths can deliver practical results.

The exchange was an important reminder of the value of dialogue with leaders whose experience continues to shape regional development and cooperation.
